Westchester salon donated to Gilda Radner cancer club

The Westchester salon in Rye Brook New York held a charity event to benefit the Gilda Radner cancer club. Gilda Radner was one of the original cast members of "Satruday Night Live" who died of cancer. The salon raised $4,300. The salon's owners decided to hold the event because they and their employees have experienced cancer in their families, co-owner Judy Girardi said. The founder of the local Gilda's Club is a client and a friend, she said.

Radner died in Los Angeles in 1989 at age 42.
